Dr. Kathy Liu obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society at her dental school. She was also the recipient of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists’ Predoctoral Student Award of her graduating class. Following dental school, Dr. Liu pursued a general practice residency at the Pittsburgh VA and received advanced training in endodontic therapy (root canals), oral maxillofacial surgery, and implant dentistry.
Dr. Liu has a unique passion and appreciation for oral health based on her extensive experience as a patient herself. Hence, she is very empathetic and compassionate towards her patients’ needs. Her focus is on educating her patients, discussing all of their dental treatment needs and working side-by-side with them to ensure they have the best treatment outcomes.
Dr. Liu stays up to date with the latest dental technologies to provide her patients the highest standard of care. She is working towards her Academy of General Dentistry fellowship which requires 500 hours of continuing education. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Maryland State Dental Association.
When she is not caring for her patients, Dr. Liu enjoys rock climbing, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
